Full Stack Developer

Job description

Lift Ventures, a remote-first startup studio whose portfolio of businesses has reached over 250 million consumers to date, is looking for a talented, mid-level full-stack developer to join our team and work on high-priority development projects for our fast-growing EdTech business SuperSummary (supersummary.com). SuperSummary is a subscription-based website offering a library of professionally-written study guides and other educational resources on thousands of books for students, teachers, and readers of all types.

As our third developer, you’ll be working directly with our two senior-level engineers, as well as with our product, design, and research team members. You’ll help accelerate development on our robust long-term product roadmap, including enhancements to our proprietary Content Management System, A/B tests on various parts of our conversion funnel, and interactive, user-facing features that drive subscriber engagement and retention.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Deliver new features for our client-server applications based on user feedback and business priorities. We use technologies such as Next.js and Ruby on Rails.

  • Develop A/B tests using Google Optimize, coding variants and setting up required analytics tools

  • Manage the entire development cycle of your own code and contribute to the overall code quality, performance, tools, code review and other processes

  • Execute discovery projects and write both discovery and engineering documentation

  • Contribute to the entire product team in our processes, share feedback, and participate in team discussions with our CEO and other leadership team members

  • Help organize and support different services in our system architecture

  • Support our product analytics by creating new events whenever we launch a new feature/content format and helping us visualize and report on relevant metrics using data visualization tools like Metabase


Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to write and speak in English - we are a global team!

  • Professional experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and relational databases

  • 2+ years of professional development experience with object-oriented programming in an agile environment

  • Strong understanding of computing theory and fundamentals, such as algorithms, time/space complexity analysis, and data structures


It would be great if you:

  • Have experience with Next.js, Server-side rendering and Static Site Generation

  • Have experience with A/B tests, preferably with Google Optimize

  • Understand CD/CI and automated testing

  • Have experience working on technical SEO improvements

  • Have experience working on user-driven digital ecommerce/SaaS/membership site funnels

  • Are open to learn and are a good communicator, with the abilityto clearly present your ideas and contribute to discussions

  • Have experience with non-relational databases like Redis and Elasticsearch
